   Alain Cantarel
The sculptor Alain Cantarel, who lives and works in Pessac near Bordeaux, without cease is raising up the admiration through his gold sparkling bronze sculptures. They are soaring up with the grace and the energy the artist has the talent to insufflate them, crossing time, always with the same attractiveness and even sometimes bewitching.

Full of tenderness and joy of life, the sculptures, on the theme of dance, couples or mobiles, embody the know-how of the artist, the adventure of a whole life. Once more Alain Cantarel is drawing us into his fascinating universe.

« Florescence » is one of his latest creations. This word, invented by the artist, immediately is talking to the imaginary, either through the consonance of “flore” (“flower”) or through “escence” (“essence”). Simplified lines, power, strong traces, carefully observed curves or roundness, suggesting a body shape, a dancer, a couple or an object, are in the heart of the artist’s researches, with full of poetry and seduction.

Sometimes in the form of a mobile like “Florescence”, with a combination of Turkish blue and golden bronze, the sculpture can be animated around a stem, allowing the corolla or the foliage to articulate and to shelter in its heart, a golden bud ready to blossom. The shine of the polished parts of the sculpture reflect the light and the immediate environment, so that the sculpture seems to be alive, catching hour after hour to the change of light. In other works, the bronze seems to be chiselled by a goldsmith; or to the contrary, it presents a brut and corroded aspect, in contrast with the smoothness of the polished metal.

After its elaboration, each object is moulded, then casted. The grown cold object, freed from the mould is then trimmed and limed before undergoing the final polishing. The final sculpture is the result of a long and delicate process.

Do not fail to come and take advantage of the beauty and poetic enchantment that can be experimented at the contact of the works of Alain Cantarel, who presents them for the last time in Switzerland.
A publication with numerous illustrations accompany the exhibition.
